After much hemming and hawing, Elliot finally managed to rebook us via American Airlines. We were even able to use mileage again toward one of the tickets, so the total cost of the flights is pretty much a wash, despite the chaos. However, AA doesn't seem to be feeling so hot these days, so keep your fingers crossed that they will even still be a company by November.

Now that I think about it, it did seem a bit too good to be true. We had almost seemlessly booked our non-stop tickets from JFK to BKK (Bangkok) for Oct. 31-Nov. 17. It was a litte iffy trying to get El's miles to cover one of our tickets, but we managed to pull it off, cutting our costs in half. But then, due to the ever-increasing costs of oil, Thai Airways began to cut back on their gas-guzzling flights. More...

She worked as an information architect for various companies, she did this remotely and so was able to spend 8 months of the year traveling.
